Douglas R. Myers, O.D., Diplomate of American Board of Optometry
Dr. Myers attended Fullerton Community College in 1966 before transferring to University of Berkeley, School of Optometry, as part of the Air Force ROTC program, in 1968. After graduating as a Doctor of Optometry in 1972, Dr. Myers was commissioned as an officer to Wright-Patterson Air Force base in Dayton, Ohio, for eighteen months. Much to Dr. Myers and his wife Nancy’s delight, they were transferred to a better climate at Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu, Hawaii, for three additional years. After completing his service, Dr. Myers was honorably discharged from the Air Force Bio – Medical Corps in 1977. In that same year, with two children, Dr. Myers and Nancy made the big move to Chico to start a practice and call Chico home. Dr. Myers has been practicing optometry for more than 45 years.
Dr. Myers loves spending time with his patients ensuring complete eye care is given to them. Dr. Myers practices full scope optometry for all your eye care needs such as treatment and management of glaucoma, dry eye treatment - including management with punctal plugs, prescription and design of specialty rigid and soft contact lenses, and much more. In his free time, Dr. Myers enjoys fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his wife, five kids and six grandchildren.
Dr. Myers is affiliated with the California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
